Maricris

Maricris the first time we found her

Maricris is homeless kids that #TheLugawProject is "adopting". Her mother comes to her every now and then, and usually every three or four days later after roaming around the city and the neighboring areas to carol for money. So while she is out, Maricris just walks around Poblacion Park in Talisay City, Cebu, to ask for alms. She always does that, out of a habit maybe, despite the fact that we feed her from morning til night. Some friends also give her clothes, which she throws away after wearing them, out of a habit also as she's not used to keeping the dirty clothes to be washed later. So we accept their donations and let her use and throw away later on. We want to change that habit, though. But not right away. The kid still needs to be trained in almost everything. The problem now is a home for her, and for her family. She has two other siblings: a nine-year-old and a six-year-old, who are in separate locations. The mother just left them somewhere, but when we ask of their whereabouts she can tell us where they could be found. So hopefully, we can provide them a small house where they can be together again. And maybe a livelihood so the mother can stop moving for money. Personally, I don't know we can achieve this, but who knows. Good is watching.

Hope

There is always hope for this little boy.

The Lugaw Project kids

#TheLugawProject kids in Sitio Rattan, Tangke, Talisay City, Cebu (Philippines). The area is teeming with malnourished kids. #TLP hopes to continue the feeding program in that area until we see these little children become healthy.
